Company Achieves Prestigious Recognition for Hiring High Percentage of U.S. Military Veterans

Kennesaw, GA – November 09, 2022 – Rubicon Technical Services (RTS) today announced the company has been honored for the fourth consecutive year with the HIRE Vets Medallion Platinum Award. Issued by the U.S. Department of Labor, the award honors organizations that meet rigorous criteria for recruiting, employing, and retaining America’s military veterans. RTS far exceeds the 2022 HIRE Vets’ 10 percent requirement by hiring 63 percent veterans. Of the Veterans hired in 2021, 75 percent are still employed by RTS. In total, RTS’s workforce is comprised of 61 percent of military veterans.

Initiated by the Honoring Investments in Recruiting and Employing American Military Veterans (HIRE Vets) Act of 2017, the award recognizes small businesses, nonprofit organizations, and large companies for excellence in leadership regarding promoting veterans’ employment.

“We are extremely grateful and honored to receive this recognition for the fourth consecutive year from the U.S. Department of Labor,” said William J. Pirrone, Founding Principal, RTS. “Providing our veterans additional options for civilian career opportunities continues to be a priority for RTS because they bring a high quality of leadership, technical skills, and extremely strong work values. It’s also our way to support those who have honorably served our nation.”

RTS, a four time Hire Vets Platinum Medallion Award winner, encourages current enlisted Active-Duty US Military members with 180 days remaining to apply for the DoD SkillBridge Apprenticeship Program.  RTS are a qualifying Company in Skillbridge.  The 180-day training and development program with RTS will give participants the skills, experience, and knowledge necessary to be hired and excel in the commissioning industry to commence their civilian careers.

RTS joins approximately 834 other companies from 49 states, plus the District of Columbia, who have shown a commitment to hiring veterans, but also ensuring that they have a long-term career and growth plan that uses the diverse skills they acquired through their military service.

Earning the award raises a company’s profile to a national level through federal recognition—awardees are highlighted on an interactive map at HIREVets.gov/awardees. As veterans narrow their job search, the HIRE Vets Medallion Award is a clear signal that a company is veteran-ready and dedicated to investing in their careers.
